[PIETERMARITZBURG] – Five vehicle collision leaves eight injured.
Eight people were left injured this afternoon after a rear-end collision involving five vehicles on the N3 south-bound highway in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal.
At approximately 15h00, ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene with another service.
Five vehicles were found in the right-hand lane of the highway. The drivers and passengers from the vehicles were found either walking around on the scene or seated in their vehicles.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that one person had sustained serious injuries while seven other had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to various hospitals in the area for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
