[BLOUBERG] Man airlifted following non-fatal drowning incident
A man, believed to be in his thirties, was airlifted by a medical helicopter from Blouberg beachfront on Wednesday afternoon following a non-fatal drowning incident.
At approximately 3.30pm paramedics and rescuers from ER24, Community Medics, NSRI and Life Healthcare attended the scene on the beach. It is understood from bystanders that the man was swept out to sea and rescued by members from the NSRI and brought back to the beachfront. He was treated on the beach by the medical personnel and later airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a hospital in Cape Town.
