[ATHLONE] – Vehicle rollover leaves one dead, seven injured.

One man was killed and seven others injured this morning following a vehicle rollover on the N2 Jan Smuts in Athlone, Western Cape.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 05:58 to find the light motor vehicle on its roof on the side of the road. Several people were found walking around on the scene.
On closer assessment, medics found that a man had sustained numerous fatal injuries. Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead.
Seven other patients were tended to on the scene. Assessments showed that all seven had sustained minor to moderate injuries. The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
