[ATLANTIS] – Taxi rear-ends bus leaving thirteen injured.
Thirteen people were left injured this morning when the taxi they were traveling in rear-ended a bus on Grosvenor Road in Atlantis in the Western Cape.
ER24, Life Healthcare, Western Cape Fire and Metro Rescue arrived on the scene shortly after 09h00 to find that a taxi had rear-ended a bus, both in the left-hand lane.
Medics assessed the patients and found that thirteen people had sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.
The patients were treated for their injuries and the seriously injured provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care. One patient was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a nearby hospital.
Fortunately, no-one from the bus sustained any injuries.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
