[BENONI] Seriously injured driver entrapped as car collides with wall

A 33-year-old male has suffered multiple, serious injuries after his Audi collided with a residential boundary wall on Oak Street in Northmead, Benoni this morning.

ER24 paramedics arrived on scene at 9:12 am to find two people still in the vehicle. The female passenger was helped from the vehicle, shaken, but uninjured. The man however was entrapped in the wreckage and several members of the Fire Department and Ekurhuleni Emergency Services were required to extract him. Advanced Life Support interventions were initiated while still entrapped and once freed the patient was taken to Tambo Memorial Hospital in Boksburg for further treatment.

The EMPD were also present for further investigations.
