[BENONI] Three women injured in a single vehicle collision

Three women have been injured, one critically, in a single vehicle collision with the concrete barrier on the N12 between Tom Jones and Snake Roads in Benoni this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 14:25 along with the Fire Department, GPG Rescue, EMPD and another private service. The three women were found entrapped in the light motor vehicle and the Fire Department used the Jaws Of Life to extricate them from the wreckage. A 27-year-old woman was found to have suffered critical injuries and required Advanced Life Support interventions in order to stabilise her condition. The other two women, believed to be of a similar age, had suffered moderate to serious injuries. The critical as well as one of the seriously injured patients were treated and transported by ER24 to Tambo Memorial Hospital for further care. The second seriously injured patient was transported by another private service to the hospital.

The exact cause of the collision is unknown to ER24, but authorities were on the scene for further investigation.
