[BEREA] – Explosion leaves woman critically injured.

A woman was left critically injured this afternoon when an LPG bottle ruptured on Soper Road in Berea, Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics, City of Johannesburg EMS and another service, arrived on the scene to find the woman lying on the pavement.

Medics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained a serious injury to her left leg and was in a critical condition. It is believed that a piece of the LPG cylinder had struck her in the leg.

The woman was treated for her injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions before she was transported to Charlotte Maxeke Provincial Hospital for urgent care.

The relevant authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
