BETHAL – One killed, another injured in collision between truck and bakkie

One person was killed and another sustained minor injuries in a collision between a truck and a bakkie along the R545 between Bethal and Kriel this afternoon.

At approximately 12.30pm, paramedics from ER24 and local provincial EMS services arrived on the scene. The driver of the bakkie sadly succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead by the provincial EMS services. Paramedics assessed the driver of the truck and treated him for minor injuries. He was later transported to Mediclinic Highveld.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene and will conduct an investigation.
