[BLOUBERGSTRAND] – Pedestrian seriously injured in a collision.

On Friday evening, a man in his 40s was seriously injured after he was struck by a light motor vehicle on Foam Road in Bloubergstrand.
ER24 and other services arrived on the scene at 21h30 to find a light motor vehicle in the middle of the road.
Upon closer inspection, medics found a man in his 40s trapped beneath the vehicle.
Medics and Rescue Services had to use specialised tools to lift the vehicle and free the entrapped man.
After a few minutes, the man was freed, treated for severe injuries and later transported to a nearby hospital for urgent care.
The driver of the vehicle, fortunately, escaped injury.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
