[BONANNE] Child seriously injured in a bicycle accident

A 9-year-old boy sustained serious injuries following a bicycle accident in Bonanne, Vanderbijlpark this afternoon.

With ER24’s arrival at the scene at approximately 13h00, they found the boy lying partially on the sidewalk with bystanders standing next to him. The boy was assessed and found to have sustained serious injuries to his abdomen. ER24 treated him at the scene before transporting him to hospital for further medical care.

It is understood that the boy lost control of his bicycle and landed on the handlebars.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics.
