[CAMPERDOWN] – Child airlifted to hospital following non-fatal drowning.

A boy, believed to be 12-months-old, was airlifted to hospital this morning following a non-fatal drowning at a residence in Camperdown, KwaZulu Natal.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 10h40 and were led into one of the bedrooms where the young patient was found, laying on the bed.

On assessment, medics found that the boy was in a serious condition.

Treatment and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated, in an effort to stabilise his condition.

Once treated, the patient was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg for further treatment.

The detail surrounding this incident are not yet known.
