[CARLETONVILLE] Four injured in cash-in-transit heist

Four people have been left injured following an apparent cash in transit heist on the R501 in Carletonville this afternoon.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at approximately 16h30, they found a cash in transit van standing in the middle of the road. The van was allegedly blown open with explosives.

Four patients, understood to be the two guards and two support vehicle occupants, were found walking around at the scene. Paramedics assessed them and found that they sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. ER24 paramedics, along with another medical service at the scene, treated the patients before transporting them to hospital for further medical care.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not known to our paramedics, but the police were on the scene for further investigations.
