[CLOCOLAN] – Two killed when bakkie and car collide.

Two people were killed yesterday afternoon when a bakkie and light motor vehicle collided on the R708 just outside of Clocolan in the Free State.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 17h00 to find the Free State EMS already in attendance.

On closer inspection, medics found both the bakkie and light motor vehicle on the side of the road. The bodies of two elderly men were found inside the light motor vehicle while four people from the bakkie were found walking around the scene.

Medics assessed the patients and found that the two elderly men from the light motor vehicle had already succumbed to their numerous injuries. Nothing more could be done for them and they were declared dead.

The four occupants from the bakkie were assessed and found to have escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
