[DAVEYTON] – Taxi and car collide leaving one dead, seven injured.

One man was killed and seven others injured this morning when a light motor vehicle crashed into the side of a taxi on Moche Road in Daveyton.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 00h40 to find the Provincial Services already in attendance.

On closer inspections, medics found a man lying next to the light motor vehicle while seven others were found seated in the vehicle or found walking around on the scene.

Medics assessed the patients and found that one man had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.

Seven other patients were assessed. One patient was found to be in a critical condition while six others had sustained moderate injuries. The patients were treated for their injuries and the critically injured provided with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
