[DE DEUR] One killed, two critical in head-on collision

A man believed to be around 40 years old has died and two of his passengers around the same age have suffered critical injuries after their light-motor-vehicle collided head-on with a bakkie on Rose Road (R551) in De Deur yesterday afternoon. Three other men from the bakkie suffered minor to serious injuries in the incident.

ER24 paramedics were on the scene at around 14:00 yesterday along with GPG, Midvaal Fire, SAPS and other private EMS services. The driver of the BMW was found deceased in the vehicle and declared dead on arrival by GPG medics. The two male passengers found with critical injuries were treated with Advanced Life Support interventions and transported both to Sebokeng and Chris Hani Baragwanath hospitals for further care.

GPG treated and transported the three male adults from the bakkie to Sebokeng Hospital for further care.

As stated, the South African Police Services were on the scene for further investigations.
