[DELMAS] – Head-on collision leaves three dead, five injured.

Three people were killed and five others injured, including two children, when an SUV and light motor vehicle collided head-on at the R50 and R555 intersection near Delmas.

ER24 paramedics, along with several other services, arrived on the scene at 18h19 to find the two wrecked vehicles in the road. Several people were found walking around on the scene.

Medics assessed the patients and found that two men and a woman from the light motor vehicle had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead.

Five other patients were tended to on the scene. Three adults and two children had sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.

The patients were treated for their injuries and the seriously injured provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
