[DURBANVILLE] Three trucks collide leaving four injured

A man in his 30s is in a critical condition and three others suffered minor to moderate injuries following a head-on collision between two trucks on the Tygerberg Valley Road outside Durbanville this afternoon. A third truck was also involved in the incident.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene just after 3 pm to find the Traffic and Fire Departments on the scene. The critically injured driver was found to be entrapped in his cab and had to be freed using the Jaws Of Life. He was treated on scene using Advanced Life Support interventions with the assistance of another private emergency service provider before being transported to Tygerberg Hospital for further care.

One of the men from the second truck had suffered moderate injuries and another two, minor injuries. Two were taken to Mediclinic Durbanville and the third to Karl Bremer Hospital for further treatment.

The South African Police were on scene for further investigations.
