[EMALAHLENI] One killed, four injured in a collision

One person was killed, and four others were injured following a collision on the N12 in Emalahleni this morning.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 07h00, they found two trucks on opposite sides of a larger truck on the roadway. Upon further assessment, one person had sustained fatal injuries while another was in critical condition. Two others were found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries. Another patient was found in a delivery van a couple of meters away. He was entrapped and had to be extricated with the jaws of life. He was found to be in a serious condition.

ER24, as well as various other medical services at the scene, treated the patients before transporting them to hospital for further medical care.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics, but local authorities were in attendance.
