[ERMELO] – Car and bakkie collide, leaving three dead, three injured.

Two men and a woman were killed and three others injured this morning when a bakkie and a light motor vehicle collided at the Church and Voortrekker intersection in Ermelo.
ER24 and the Provincial Services arrived on the scene at 01h40 to find the bakkie in the middle of the road while the car was on its roof on the side of the road. Six people were found lying trapped inside the light motor vehicle.
The Provincial Services had to use specialised equipment to free the patients from the vehicle. Once released, medics assessed the patients and found that two men and a woman had already succumbed to their injuries. Three other patients had sustained minor to severe injuries.
Paramedics treated the patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions before being transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
