[ERMELO] – Collision leaves three dead, one injured.

Three people were killed, including a pregnant woman, and another woman left injured following a collision between a light motor vehicle and an SUV on the Lothair Road, approximately 35km outside of Ermelo, Mpumalanga.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 08h55 to find the SUV lying on its roof on the side of the road while the light motor vehicle was situated upright in the road.

On closer inspection, medics found the bodies of two men and a pregnant woman, believed to be 8-months, lying trapped inside the light motor vehicle.

Medics assessed the patients and found that they had already succumbed to their numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead.

The driver of the SUV, a woman, was assessed and found to have sustained only minor injuries.

The woman was treated and thereafter transported to Mediclinic Ermelo for further treatment.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
