[FAIRLAND] Newborn baby found in a bush

A newborn baby girl was found in a bush in Fairland in Gauteng this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics were alerted to the incident by the local authorities and arrived at the police station shortly after 16h00.

Upon further assessment, paramedics found the baby girl wrapped in a towel. ER24 paramedics assessed the baby and found that she had sustained no visible injuries. Paramedics transported her to hospital for further medical care.

It is understood that a member of the public found the baby girl in a bush before taking her to the police station.

The exact circumstances surrounding this incident are not known to our paramedics.
