[FERNDALE] – Elderly couple stabbed multiple times, left critically injured.

A man and a woman, both in their 70s, were left critically injured this morning when they were attacked in their home on Long Road in Ferndale, Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the elderly couple inside the home.

Medics assessed the patients and found that they had sustained numerous stab wound and were in a critical condition.

The patients were treated for their injuries and were provided with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patients were transported to a nearby private hospital for further care.

It is understood that an armed man had stormed into the home in the early hours of the morning.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
