[FOURIESBURG] – Bakkie rollover leaves one dead, seven injured.

One person was killed, and seven others left injured when the bakkie they were travelling in rolled off the R711 in Fouriesburg, Free State, last night.
At approximately 18h30 ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the bakkie on the side of the road. Several people were found lying scattered around the car.
Medics assessed the patients and found that one had already succumbed to their numerous injuries. Nothing more could be done by paramedics, and they were declared dead by the Provincial EMS.
Seven other patients were tended to by medical staff. Assessments showed that two patients had sustained serious injuries while five others had sustained minor to moderate.
Medics treated the patients and provided the two seriously injured with pain-relief medication before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
