[HOLFONTEIN] One airlifted, two others injured in head-on collision

Three women were injured in a head-on collision on the N14 in Holfontein, west of Johannesburg, this evening.

Shortly after 5 pm, paramedics from ER24 and other services arrived on the scene where they found one of the women in a serious condition still trapped inside one of the vehicles. The Krugersdorp Fire Department used rescue tools to free her from the wreckage. A medical helicopter was called to the scene whereafter she was airlifted to hospital.

Two other women were treated for moderate to serious injuries. Both were later transported to a nearby hospital for medical care.

Local authorities attended the scene. The exact circumstances surrounding the collision is not yet known.
