[KEMPTON PARK] – Man killed in a head-on collision.

Last night, a man was killed in a head-on collision between a towing truck and a light motor vehicle on the R21 near the R23 offramp in Kempton Park.
ER24 arrived at 23h57 to find the towing truck and light motor vehicle in the right-hand lane smashed together.
On closer inspection, medics found a man, believed to be in his 50s, lying trapped inside the car.
Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his numerous injuries. Nothing could be done, and he was declared dead.
The driver of the towing vehicle, fortunately, escaped injury.
It is understood that the light motor vehicle was travelling on the wrong side of the highway.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
