[KLAPMUTS] – One killed, another injured after struck by truck.

One person was killed, and a woman left critically injured when they were struck by a truck at the R101 and R44 intersection in Klapmuts in the Western Cape.
ER24 paramedics, along with the Metro and Fire Services, arrived on the scene to find the truck parked in the road. One person was found lying trapped beneath the truck while a 58-year-old woman was found lying in front of the truck.
The Provincial Services assessed the patient beneath the truck and found that they had sustained numerous fatal injuries. Nothing more could be done, and they were declared dead.
The 58-year-old woman found lying in the front of the truck was assessed and found to have sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition.
The woman was treated and provided with pain-relief medication before she was transported to Paarl Provincial Hospital for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
