[KRAAIFONTEIN] – Man hit-and-killed by train.

A 25-year-old man was killed last night when he was struck by a train at the Eikenfontein Station in Kraaifontein, Western Cape.

ER24 paramedics, SAPS and Titanium Security arrived on the scene shortly after 20h30 to find the man lying partially beneath the train, parked a short distance from the platform.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained several injuries and was in a critical condition.

The man was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions.

Once treated, the man was transported to Tygerberg Provincial Hospital for further care.

Unfortunately, on route to hospital, the man succumbed to his injuries.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
