[KRAAIFONTEIN] – Man struck by taxi left critically injured.
A man, believed to be in his 30s, was left critically injured this morning when he was struck by a taxi whilst crossing Botfontein Road in Kraaifontein in the Western Cape.
ER24 paramedics, along with Titanium Security, arrived on the scene at 07h45 to find the man lying on the side of the road. The taxi that had struck the man was found parked a short distance away.
Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition.
The man was treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to Mediclinic Cape Gate for further stabilisation. Once stable, the man was transported to Tygerburg Provincial Hospital for further care.
The driver of the taxi fortunately escaped injury.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
