[LADYSMITH] Fifteen injured in a collision between a truck and taxi
Fifteen people have suffered a range of critical to minor injuries after the taxi they were travelling in collided with a delivery truck close to the intersection of the R103 and Harrismith Road outside Ladysmith this evening.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 19:22 along with the local provincial EMS, another private service and the Fire Department. All the injured were found to be from the Taxi and all were adults. Three passengers were found to have suffered critical injuries, four others, moderate injuries and the remainder had suffered minor injuries. The driver was found still in the drivers seat, entrapped under the truck – all three services helped to extricated him. He had luckily only suffered moderate injuries and was transported through to Ladysmith Provincial Hospital for further care.
The South African Police Services were also on the scene for further investigations.
