[LADYSMITH] Man injured in a shooting incident

A man, believed to be in his 30s, sustained moderate injuries following a shooting incident last night.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene on the N3 at the Tugela Toll Plaza shortly before 20H30, they found the police and other local authorities already at the scene. Upon further assessment, paramedics found the man still seated in his vehicle. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh.

It is understood that he was allegedly shot by two men who he had given a lift to earlier. He managed to drive off until he reached the Toll Plaza.

ER24 treated and stabilized the man at the scene before transporting him to hospital for further medical care.

The exact circumstances surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
