[LADYSMITH] One killed, another seriously injured in vehicle rollover

A man was killed and another sustained serious injuries when their vehicle overturned several times along the N11 near the D45 outside of Ladysmith this afternoon.

Shortly after 4pm, paramedics from ER24 and EMRS arrived on the scene where they found the overturned vehicle. Sadly, one of the occupants was found with fatal injuries inside of the vehicle. There was nothing that could be done for him and he was declared dead. Another male occupant was also found trapped. He had serious injuries and was extricated by using specialised rescue tools from ER24’s Rescue Unit and EMRS.

He was further stabilised when he was freed from the wreckage and transported to Lenmed Laverna Private Hospital for further medical care.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet known.
