[LADYSMITH] – Pedestrian killed by taxi.

A woman was killed last night when she was struck by a taxi on the R103, 10km outside of Ladysmith, KwaZulu Natal.
At 20h17, ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the woman lying in the road. The taxi that had struck the woman was found parked a short distance away.
Medics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition.
The woman was treated and thereafter transported to Ladysmith Provincial Hospital for urgent care. At the hospital, the woman’s vital signs rapidly diminished. Medics and hospital staff immediately initiated CPR. Unfortunately, after some time, no vital signs returned, and the woman was declared dead.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
