[LEKKERHOEKIE] Woman seriously injured in go-kart collision

A 37-year-old woman has been seriously injured when she was impaled on a piece of steel after allegedly losing control of her go-kart and colliding with the barrier at a race track in Lekkerhoekie, North of Centurion this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene along with another private service at 15:20 to find that bystanders had already removed the piece of steel, leaving a 15cm laceration. The patient was treated and stabilised before being transported to Mediclinic Midstream for further care.
