[LINDEN] – Taxi crashing into wall leaving several injured.
Several people were left injured this morning, two of them critically, when the taxi they were travelling in crashed into a residence wall at the 1st Street and 4th Avenue intersection in Linden.
ER24 paramedics, along with City of Johannesburg EMS, arrived on the scene at 08h14 to find that a taxi had crashed through a residence wall and had come to a stop against the home. Several patients were found scattered around or in the vehicle.
On closer inspection, medics found that two women, believed to be in their 40s, that had sustained numerous injuries and were in critical conditions. Six other people were found with minor to moderate injuries.
Medics treated the patients and provided the two critically injured with advanced life interventions before one patient was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a nearby hospital. The remaining patients were transported by ambulances to various hospitals.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
