[LOMBARDY] Man airlifted following crash

A man believed to be in his thirties was airlifted following a crash in Lombardy East, Johannesburg.

Shortly before 10pm on Friday evening, paramedics from ER24 and other services attended the scene where they found a vehicle that crashed into a tree near the corners of Chaucer and Victoria roads.

Upon assessment, they found that the driver was still trapped inside of the vehicle. Rescue tools were used to free him from the wreckage. A medical helicopter was activated to airlift the man from the scene to a nearby hospital.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene.
