[LYTTELTON] Biker killed, another injured in collision

A female biker was killed, and a male biker sustained moderate injuries after colliding with a bakkie on the N1 South at Botha Avenue in Lyttelton this morning.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 11h00, they found the front part of a motorbike wedged underneath the back of a bakkie. A woman was found lying next to the motorbike. Unfortunately, she had sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

A man was found lying against the barrier a few feet away. He was assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries. Paramedics treated him at the scene before transporting him to hospital for further medical care.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics, but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
