[MATROOSFONTEIN] Twelve injured in taxi rollover
Twelve people, including the driver, were injured when a taxi rolled down an embankment on the Borcherds Quarry/Airport Approach off-ramp outside Cape Town this morning. The passengers were all on their way to work.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, were on the scene at 07:30 (03/05/20) to find the taxi on its side and all the passengers either walking or sitting near the vehicle, having self-extricated. Among those, ER24 treated and transported nine adult female patients in three ambulances to Mediclinic Louis Leipoldt and another private hospital in the area. Six were found to have suffered minor injuries and the other three moderate to serious.
The South African Police Services and Traffic Department were on scene for further investigation.
