[MELKBOSSTRAND] – Pedestrian killed when struck by light motor vehicle.

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was killed this morning when he was struck by a light motor vehicle on the M19 in Melkbosstrand in the Western Cape.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 11h00 to find the body of a man lying on the side of the road. The vehicle that had struck the man was found parked some distance away.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had already succumbed to his numerous injuries. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.

The driver of the vehicle fortunately escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
