[MEQHELENG] Bus carrying 60 school kids overturns

Nine teenagers and one teacher have been injured after a bus carrying 60 school kids to a sports day overturned in the Meqheleng location outside Ficksburg, in the Free State, this morning.

ER24 paramedics as well as the local Provincial EMS were on the scene at 10:52 this morning to find the bus on it’s side at the bottom of a hill and many of the teenagers sitting outside. Luckily all the patients, including the female teacher, believed to be in her mid 40s, were found to have suffered only minor injuries. They were all treated and transported to Ficksburg Hospital by both services on the scene. The driver, as well as the rest of the teenagers, escaped unharmed.

Both the Traffic Department, as well as the South African Police Services were on the scene for further investigations.
