[MEYERTON] – Male pedestrian left seriously injured in collision.

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was left seriously injured on Friday night when he was struck by a light motor vehicle on the R59 near the Henley Dam offramp in Meyerton.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 22h30 to find the light motor vehicle on the side of the road. The pedestrian was found lying a short distance away.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries to his legs and was in a serious condition.

The man was treated for his injuries and provided with pain-relief medication before he was transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
