[MIDDELBURG] – Man hospitalised following a farming accident.

On Tuesday evening, a man in his 40s was hospitalised after his foot got caught in a machine on a farm outside Middelburg.
ER24 paramedics arrived at the farm at 18h20 and were led to a nearby large machine.
On closer inspection, medics found that a man in his 40s had had his foot trapped inside a large auger machine.
Medics and Rescue teams worked to free the man from the machine while a doctor was flown to the scene by a private medical helicopter for further assistance.
After several emergency procedures were performed, the doctor and ER24 medics were able to free the man’s leg. The man was treated and provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to a private hospital in Johannesburg for further care.
