[MIDDELBURG] – Two dead when truck rear-ends taxi.

Two men were killed early this morning when a truck rear-ended a stationary taxi on the N4 highway near the Hendrina offramp outside of Middelburg.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the two vehicles on opposite sides of the road. Two men were found lying behind the taxi a short distance apart.
Medics assessed the men and found that they both had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead.
The driver of the truck, fortunately, escaped injury.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
