[MULDERSDRIFT] – Two trucks collide leaving two injured.
Two men were left injured this morning, one of them critically when two trucks collided head-on on the N14 in Muldersdrift.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find the two trucks in the middle of the road. A man was found lying trapped in each vehicle.
Paramedics extricated one man from the truck while the West Rand Fire Services began to free the entrapped patient from the other truck.
After approximately two hours, the fire services were able to extricate the man from the truck.
Medics assessed the men and found that one was in a serious condition while the second man was in a critical condition.
The men were treated, and the critically injured man provided with advanced life support interventions before he was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a nearby hospital. The other patient was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
