[N12] – Two bakkie collision leaves one dead, eighteen injured.

One woman was killed, and eighteen others left injured, including several children, when two bakkies collided on the N12 between Potchefstroom and Fochville.
ER24 paramedics, Potchefstroom Fire and other services arrived on the scene to find the one bakkie on the side of the road while the second bakkie was in the middle of the road. Several people were found scattered around on the scene.
Medics assessed the patients and found that a woman had sustained fatal injuries. Nothing could be done for her, and she was declared dead. Eighteen other patients were tended to. One was found to be in a critical condition, while seventeen others, including several children, were found with moderate injuries.
The patients were treated and the critically injured patient provided with advanced life support before being transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
