[NELSPRUIT] – Bakkie crashes into a tree, leaving man injured.

This afternoon, a 28-year-old man was seriously injured when his bakkie rolled and crashed into a tree on Ferreira Street in Nelspruit.
ER24 and the Nelspruit Fire Services arrived at 17h13 to find a bakkie on its side against a tree. A 28-year-old man was found lying trapped inside the vehicle.
The Fire Services had to use specialised equipment to free the man from the vehicle, an operation lasting over an hour.
Once freed, medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained a serious injury to his leg, as well as minor lacerations to his arms.
The man was treated and provided with pain-relief medication before being transported to Mediclinic Nelspruit for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
