[NYANGA/CROSSROADS] Lady seriously injured in vehicle collision

A woman believed to be in her late 20s/early 30s has been seriously injured in a head-on collision between a light motor vehicle and a taxi on Japhta K Masemola Road in Nyanga/Crossroads late last night.

ER24 paramedics, Lima Charlie 1, Law Enforcement, Metro Rescue and SAPS were all on the scene at 12:20 am. The female patient was found lying prone over the front seats of the vehicle, having suffered serious injuries. She was treated with Advanced Life Support interventions for pain and immobilised with the help of a stretcher before being extricated from the vehicle. She was then transported by ER24 with Lima Charlie 1’s ALS medic to Groote Schuur Hospital for further care.

The driver of the taxi was unharmed in the incident and the South African Police Services were on scene for investigations.
