[OLIEVENHOUTBOSCH] Girl seriously injured in a freak accident

A 5-year-old girl was left seriously injured after she was impaled on a piece of wire yesterday afternoon at a residence in Olievenhoutbosch.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 16H00, they found the mother carrying the little girl towards them. Upon assessment, paramedics found that the girl had sustained serious injuries and immediately initiated advanced life support interventions before transporting her to hospital.

It is understood that the girl was playing behind the house when the incident happened.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics.
