[OLIVENHOUTBOSCH] – Female pedestrian left critical in collision.

A woman, believed to be in her 20s, was left critically injured when she was struck a bakkie on the R55 in Olivenhoutbosch, yesterday afternoon.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 14h56 to find a woman, believed to be in her 20s, lying in the middle of the road. A bakkie was found parked a short distance away.

Medics assessed the woman and found that she had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition.

The woman was treated for her injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions before she was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a nearby hospital for further care.

The driver of the bakkie fortunately escaped injury.
