[PATA] – Taxi crashes into river leaving nine injured.

Nine people were left injured this afternoon when a taxi left the road and crashed into a river in the Pata area in Edendale, KwaZulu Natal.

ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene at 14h18 to find the taxi at the bottom of an embankment in a small river. Several passengers had already climbed out of the vehicle and were found walking around the scene.

Medics assessed the patients and found that nine people had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found on the scene.

The patients were treated for their injuries were thereafter transported to nearby provincial hospitals for further care.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
