[PENNYVILLE] Taxi knocks down two women

Two women in their 30s have been knocked down by a taxi on New Canada Road, Pennyville, Randburg this morning.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 7:40 am to find the two pedestrians lying on the pavement having suffered multiple injuries. One patient was in a critical condition, the other in a serious condition, both required Advanced Life Support interventions to stabilise them. Both were transported to Helen Joseph Hospital for further treatment. The critical patient’s condition deteriorated en route and resuscitation was initiated, unfortunately, her injuries were too severe and she passed away at the hospital.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigation.
